As Canadians return home to celebrate their Thanksgiving Day, it's only fitting that this is the night Jason Pominville makes his return to Buffalo.
Pominville, of course, spent significant parts of eight seasons in the blue and gold and was the Sabres' captain for the final two years of his tenure. He scored 456 points in 578 games; none more memorable than the the "Scary Good" overtime winner in Ottawa.
Following last year's trade to the Minnesota Wild, he had nine points in 10 games for the Wild last season, and was then limited to just two playoff games because of a concussion. He's had a slow start to this season but glad to be back.
"It was weird, coming in through the same door you usually come in and having to go left instead of right into the locker room. It's great to be back, a lot of great memories, a lot of great times. I'm just excited to get the game going," Pominville said.
The puck drops at First Niagara Center for Sabres vs. Wild at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
