The Sabres have a few days off between games. Their next matchup is against the Bruins on home ice Wednesday.
The team returned to the practice ice on Monday morning, and spent a good deal of the day in video sessions - taking a chance to learn from the experiences of the last few games. Ville Leino and Corey Tropp both returned to practice. Leino is recovering from a cracked rib, while Tropp was injured in a preseason fight. Meanwhile, words of praise for young defenseman Mark Pysyk; who's averaging over 20 minutes of ice time with a -1 to this point.
"I go back to: leadership has to start from the first phase," head coach Ron Rolston said. "And the first phase is - you have to be consistent and you have to be capable. And that's where your leadership comes from. So guys like Mark Pysyk, he goes out every night. He's going to give you the same thing every night, so I'd say that would be one. It goes back to guys like that. If you can't do that, you can't lead. You can't be up one night, down the next night. So you have to be consistent and you have to be capable, and you have to help our team be successful."
