The Sabres have had a chance to examine what to improve upon with three days between games heading into Wednesday night's matchup with Boston.
The team was back on the ice for practice on Tuesday at First Niagara Center.
The Sabres are 1-8-1, and their three points are the second-fewest in the NHL as the 5-2 Bruins come to town on Wednesday.
For a young team trying to find consistency, the extra preparation time this week can be helpful.
"It's been a while since we've had a few practice days. It was nice to look at video and always look a lot at the negative stuff and some of the positive we've had and just get better day by day," Thomas Vanek said. "We knew before the year this was going to be a tough year for us and we were going to have to battle hard every night to get wins and so far we've been on the wrong side of those things. But at the same time we have to stay positive, practice hard and carry those over."
