Mario expects to play Sunday

Mario expects to play Sunday
Mario Williams was back with the Bills Monday, but did not practice as he recovers from last Thursday's minor wrist procedure. Williams told the media that he expects to play Sunday, but will continue to wear a cast.

"I'm not missing anything," the defensive end said. "That's why I did it. I didn't do this to say. 'This is it. I'm going to miss something.' No, this is to get better. This is to have healing occur that wasn't happening before."

Williams spoke for the last few weeks about how his range of motion has been limited by the wrist injury. He noted that this procedure was designed to clean it out, and said his range of motion has already improved. The only pain he feels is from an incision required by the procedure.

"By doing it, it's simply going to get me into a position to be able to work out an use my other hand more adequately," Williams added. "I think that was the biggest thing, as far as me feeling more comfortable and just being able to get better."

He saw the bye week as the perfect opportunity.

"We (were) kind of at a dead point, kind of at a stand still. So there really was no other choice."
