The King Tut Exhibit has hit North America and now through April 18, 2010, it is nearby at Toronto's Art Gallery of Ontario.

The exhibit is a blast back more than 3,500 years featuring 50 objects from the tomb of Tutankhamun, including the gold sandals that adorned the mummy's feet. In addition to the treasures from the tomb, 80 artifacts highlighting the most significant rulers of ancient Egypt.

The entire tour, including a fantastic 3D movie on mummies, takes approximately 90 minutes. If you wanted to really study everything offered, plan to spend a day. All ages will enjoy this once in a lifetime display.

Ticket prices begin at $18 Canadian and should be purchased in advance at the link below or at (416) 979-6608. There are 'Day Of' tickets, but are limited. Museum is closed on Mondays. Open Tuesday-Sunday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (416) 979-6648

The Art Gallery of Ontario just went through a multi-million dollar renovation designed by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry. The AGO has more than 73,000 works on permanent display spanning from 100 AD to the present.

If you've been to Toronto before, you may want to discover a new neighborhood. The West End's Ossington Ave. has been partially transformed from a gritty working-class area into a trendy, high-end strip of galleries and restaurants.

Two favorites! Union Restaurant, 72 Ossington Avenue, with a great coffee bar and sit-down dining. (416) 850-0093

Pizzeria Libretto, 221 Ossington Avenue, with great, fresh brick-oven pizzas and delicious Italian entrées. Great for lunch and dinner. Reservations suggested. (416) 532-8000
