Expressway traffic near Marketplace Mall was back to normal again late this afternoon after a tractor-trailer crashed into a bridge.

The truck’s load was too high and crashed into the Hylan Drive overpass on 390 North. The impact nearly ripped one of the huge signs fixed to the bridge off its frame. Police shut down 390 North traffic for most of the afternoon. No one was hurt.

The driver of the Leonards Express truck received a ticket for height of the load and for following too closely. The escort car was ticketed for failure to give due warning.

Two lanes of 390 North traffic were closed for several hours before reopening before the evening rush hour.
