Funeral services are set for one of Rochester's all-around greatest athletes.

Trent Jackson, 65, died suddenly at Strong Hospital Sunday evening.

Jackson was a stand-out athlete at Franklin High.

He raced as a sprinter in the 1964 Olympics. Jackson would later play in the NFL.

He returned to his alma mater to coach boy's basketball for more than 20 years. Jackson's team won half a dozen section five titles.

Jackson's health problems began in 1998 when he underwent bypass surgery. He retired from coaching in 2001, but remained active in the community.

Calling hours will be Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m at the Antioch Baptist Church on Baden Street.

The funeral service will take place at the church Saturday at 11 a.m.
