A Rochester teenager has been charged with drunk driving after police say he crashed his car into the back of a Monroe County Department of Transportation truck.
The accident happened on Pattonwood Drive around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Irondequoit police say Orlando Inostroza, 18, was driving eastbound on Pattonwood Dr. when he struck the back of a DOT pickup truck.
DOT workers were repainting the double yellow lines on the road at the time.
DOT worker Leroy Morgan, 68, was sitting on the back of the DOT truck placing cones out when it happened. His arm and legs suffered serious injuries. He was rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital where he underwent surgery.
Inostroza and his passengers suffered minor injuries. Police charged him with DWI.
Police say he also has seven active suspensions pending against his drivers license. He will appear in Irondequoit Town Court July 27.
The investigation continues. It could possibly be turned over the Monroe County District Attorney for possible grand jury review.
