GLENS FALLS, N.Y. -- Pelting raindrops, an empty stadium and a weather forecast that's unpredictable are three things that make Coach Williams feel vulnerable.

Weather always remains the wild card when it comes filling the bleachers. But this season has been especially tough.

So far, a dozen times, Coach Williams has had to postpone a game which amounts to money down the drain.

"It's a snowball effect because now, when somebody sees that it is starting to rain, they don't come. But then when we have the game, the attendance is down and it costs us that way," said Darin Williams, coach of the Glens Falls Golden Eagles.

Williams says when he tallies all the lost business in concessions, merchandise and the box office, the franchise is down about $10,000.

"You know how on a dreary day, you just want to sit on the couch and veg, but you know on a nice sunny day, you want to get outside and watch a great baseball game," said Williams.

Friday was supposed to be game one of the league's playoffs, but rainy weather and poor field conditions forced officials to call it off. That'll happen Saturday night at East Field.

As for Sunday night's game in Saratoga, Mother Nature could throw another curveball.
