A Greece town board candidate is criticizing Rochester's main post office after he says the branch lost some 1,500 political campaign fliers.

Democrat Joe Moscato says on October 12, his campaign mailed more than 3,900 campaign fliers from the post office on Jefferson Road in Henrietta to three area zip codes in Greece.

Moscato says only one of those zip code areas received the literature. Now, he wants to know where his mail is.

"We targeted every Republican household in the town of Greece in my ward, and the purpose of that was to try and acquaint myself with these people and get them to consider voting for me. They're not getting the message, obviously, and I've definitely been harmed by the action, or lack of action, by this postal facility," said Moscato.

Moscato says he's out about $900. He also says a similar event happened in 2005 when he was running for school board. In that case, he says the Jefferson Road post office found his campaign literature under a tarp several weeks later.

In response, the U.S. Post Office issued a statement saying quote:

"We are working with employees at the processing plant and delivery offices to investigate Mr. Moscato’s concerns. In addition, the Inspection Service and Office of Inspector General have been notified."
