Hundreds Of People Line Up With Hopes Of Meeting Sarah Palin

Hundreds of people lined up early Saturday morning to get their chance to meet Sarah Palin later in the day.
The one time vice presidential candidate and former governor of Alaska will be at Borders on Hylan Drive in Henrietta Saturday evening to sign copies of her book "Going Rogue."
The line to meet Palin starts at at Borders and wraps all the way around the strip mall, past Wegmans.
To get their books signed by Sarah Palin, fans have to have a wristband, and only 1,000 will be distributed. Many fans started lining up Friday afternoon and camped out overnight.
Esther Haines grew up in China and moved to the United States in her 20s. She was in China when she got the news from her daughter of Sarah Palin's visit and flew here to meet her.
"The reason I came to this country because the U.S. is always a hope for the other nations. That is why I am here. This land that gives opportunity and the freedom and the liberty and that's what I believe and that's why I’m here, why I'm here for Sarah Palin."
Jayne Ford missed called in sick to work for the first time this year to get her chance to see Palin.
"I just think she is a real person. I just think more middle class Americans can relate to her because to be honest most presidents come from money, and she just has values - the family the values we are looking for”, said Ford.
Amy Malzeke began standing in line at 4:30 Friday afternoon.
"I would love to see her continue in the government in any way she will. I would love to see her as president I really would. I think she would be great."
Lydia Lees agrees.
"This woman is all about integrity, not selling out. Holding onto to what she values in life and the old fashion values that don't seem to exist and are disappearing from this country”, said Lees. “Aside from the Bible, that is the second book that is going to be walking with me everywhere."
Palin's visit is part of a nationwide book tour. While she's only expected to be here for a couple of hours, political pundits say she is an inspiration to many.
"She's down home, people believe in her when she says something. Unlike a lot of politicians, you can take it to the bank. People believe that she has a good sense about America, that she's fundamentally optimistic. They identify with her," said Bill Nojay, Republican strategist.
"She's a new model for a lot of American women, and I think that that's enticing. She's also plain spoken, and sure about her beliefs, and that tends to draw a particular audience as well," said Nora Bredes, U of R political professor.
Palin's book signing is from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Borders. Borders store manger pre signed book plates will also be offered when the store runs out of wrist bands.
Already, estimates are that 1000 people are here in Henrietta.
