Thanks to nearly $1.5 million in donations from its congregation, one Greece church is celebrating a massive expansion.

The congregation turned out in force for the ribbon-cutting of the Lakeshore Community Church expansion.

The 20,000-square-foot addition nearly doubles the size of the church and includes new classrooms, a full kitchen, a café and a multi-purpose area for services or sports.

"We had people set aside their business to help for months build this place and we had well over a hundred volunteers painting, doing all kinds of things. The volunteer effort was incredibly stellar. We really couldn't have done it without it," said Vince DiPaola, senior pastor.

The congregation donated a total of $1.4 million to help build the expansion.
