The Rochester Catholic Diocese announced the Monroe County Catholic school system will turn over control of two schools to the parishes.

The parishes of St. Joseph's in Penfield and St. Lawrence in Greece will now have direct control and responsibility over daily operations. The diocese said overall staffing would not be impacted.

Studies are under way to determine whether or not St. Louis in Pittsford and St. Rita's in Webster should also be parish-run schools by the 2011-2012 academic year.
