The Internal Revenue Service reports that there are $87 million in unclaimed refunds available for more than 76,000 New Yorkers.
Those refunds are due to people who never filed their 2006 return.
The organization Creating Assets, Savings and Hope, or C.A.S.H., helps low income individuals file their taxes properly each year. C.A.S.H. says it will also help with tax returns dating back up to three years from 2009.
The IRS says there is no penalty for filing a late return qualifying for a refund.
Call C.A.S.H. to get more information on who qualifies for the free tax assistance and for their appointment locations.
