Those living in the Holyoke Park Apartments say the complex is, for the most part, a quiet place. They say police are called frequently in the summer because of kids getting into mischief, but not for violent crimes like Tuesday night's triple homicide.

Holyoke Park is a large apartment complex just north of West Ridge Road, close to the town of Greece border with the city of Rochester. Some residents say they moved to the complex to escape the violent crime of the city.

"I moved so my kids can play over here, the playground facilities and all that stuff,” said Lindsay Miller. “Knowing that all this is going on, I'm not going to feel safe with them over here."

It was just before 8:30 Tuesday night when police received a 911 call reporting gunshots and people screaming. When they arrived at Building 20, three adult men were found shot to death in a second floor apartment.

"I came outside and I noticed there were like 20 or 50 cops out here so I wanted to check it out,” said Marc Bedford. “They were here for like three hours so I came out to check it out, that's all."

Police said this was not a random act and that the apartment was targeted. That is somewhat comforting to residents, but they say they are still a little concerned.

A police officer was stationed outside the building where the victims were found. Residents say that makes them feel more secure.

“I guess I feel okay,” said Karen Jones. “But it was scary last night. It was loud.”

Police are releasing few details as the investigation is ongoing. Some say they would like to know more.

"It's been pretty hush hush as far as the detail portion which is kind of a little bit concerning because you want to know exactly what is going on if you live in the area,” Michael Paparone explained. “So the information aspect is a little bit concerning but I’m not walking around looking over my shoulder expecting something to happen. This isn't that type of area I don't think.”
