A man is in guarded condition after he was allegedly stabbed by his wife late Friday night.

Rochester Police say 34-year-old William Lundy and his wife, 40-year-old Marie Lundy, got into an argument. That's when police say Marie allegedly stabbed her husband in the chest. She is charged with one count of assault in the second degree.

William Lundy is at Strong Hospital in guarded condition.

Police were originally investigating the claim that another man had stabbed Lundy while he and his wife were out for a walk. Investigators now say that proved to be false.
