Republican Senate Candidate Blakeman Attends Fundraiser
A Republican candidate for U.S. Senate was in Rochester Monday night. Bruce Blakeman attended a fundraiser at the Irondequoit Country Club.
More than 100 people were expected at the event. It comes as Blakeman is about to get a Republican opponent.
Former Congressman Joseph Dioguardi is set to announce his candidacy Tuesday, setting up a primary with Blakeman.
"Really, I'm not changing my strategy at all. This is a ground-up campaign. I'm going to start at the grassroots level, go from county to county to county. I'm going to be here often, and we're going to bring our message to the people," Blakeman said.
Blakeman said his top priorities include job creation and economic development.
