Police Identify Third Victim in Triple Homicide
Greece police have identified the third victim shot and killed at an apartment complex last week.
Police said Robert Moncriffe, 29, lived at the Milford Street apartment where he was found dead.
They say Moncriffe and the other two victims Christopher Green, 40, and Mark Wisdom, 38, were originally from Jamaica. All three lived in the apartment for about a year.
"In a normal homicide that we're used to dealing with, the victim will have some type of identification on them that tells us who they are, or will have a blood relative that can come and look at that person and say, 'Yes, that's Joe Smith,'" explained Lt. Steve Chatterton. “In this case, we didn't have that person that could do that for us."
Chatterton said each had different driver’s licenses indicating they had lived in other states.
"Each one was in various stages of immigration whether it be a citizen, or not a citizen, or just visiting, and we're still looking into that to see how they were in the United States. Were they a legal resident, an illegal resident, or were they just visiting," Chatterton said.
More than 20 Greece police officers are working on the case with assistance from 10 other law enforcement agencies. Six investigators from the New York State Police are helping along with the FBI, DEA and U.S. Immigration.
"This homicide is not something even in the city of Rochester, or a large police department, would be a common occurrence,” Lt. Chatterton said. “Normally it's local based. Our recent homicides have all been domestic related; they've all been acquaintance related. We always have leads to follow."
Police will not say if the victims were involved with drugs or weapons, or if the slayings are gang related. Chatterton did say they are following up on some leads both locally and out of the area.
