Case of Poisoned Toddler Goes to Grand Jury

The case involving an Elmira woman accused of killing her 21-month-old stepson from Batavia went to a grand jury.
Police say Melissa Engelhardt, 24, poisoned Andrew Cianfrini in November. Prosecutors said she was originally charged with first-degree manslaughter but could face more charges, based on her intent.
Engelhardt is currently in jail on bail. She has a one-year-old son with Cianfrini's father, George, and is pregnant with another baby.
