Little League Field Dedicated to Boy Killed by Father
The name of a life cut very short will live on at a little league field in Charlotte.

The Charlotte Youth Athletic Associate Little League named one of its T-Ball fields "Hunter Resch Field."

Hunter was killed by his father in a murder-suicide in Greece earlier this year.

Hunter's mother was on hand as a sign with his name and smiling picture was unveiled. He played two seasons with the league as a member of the Burlington Bees.

League members said that by dedicating the field in Hunter's name, he will always be a part of an extended family.

"This is a family-oriented league and as with any family member. You look after your family and we wanted to add his memory because he was part of our family and he will continue to be a part of our family, even if it's as a memory," said Brian Labigan, CYAA president.

In addition to the field dedication, Hunter's initials are printed on all player and coach uniforms across the league.
