Max Lill Drive Dedicated in Highland Park
The man who is responsible for a notable part of Highland Park was honored Friday.
Friends and family of the late James "Max" Lill gathered at the park's Lamberton Conservatory Friday.
It was Lill's vision and passion that ultimately led to the 1996 construction of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at the park.
County Executive Maggie Brooks dedicated Max Lill Drive at the park in recognition of Lill's accomplishments.
“Max Lill was the heart and soul of the Vietnam Veteran Memorial of Greater Rochester. It is such a fitting tribute for our county executive and senators and or mayor to come together and honor Max today,” said Veteran Andy Portanova, who was also Max’s friend.
James "Max" Lill died last month.
