New York State Police said alcohol may have played a role in the fatal motorcycle crash that killed one woman Sunday night and sent her husband to the hospital with serious injuries.

State police said Mark Rabideau, 52, and his wife Lucille took part in a motorcycle rally Sunday. Rabideau owns "Rab's Woodshed." Friends said the annual dice run was a tribute to Mark's brother Tom. Friends said Tom was killed in a motorcycle crash seven years ago.

"It was a great day. We served well over a couple hundred motorcycles. It was a festive day. Everybody was ready to spend their money for charity and it just turned the wrong way on us, didn't expect that," Brian Kirkpatrick said.

State police said that during that dice run, Mark Rabideau and about 10 other motorcyclists, were headed eastbound on the Lake Ontario State Parkway. His wife Lucille was a passenger on his bike. State police said that Rabideau lost control of his motorcycle, went into the center median, then struck the guardrail near the Long Pond Road exit.

The Rabideaus were thrown from the bike which then burst into flames. Both were transported to Strong Hospital with life-threatening injuries around 5:30 Sunday evening.

Police said Lucille Rabideau, 55, died from the internal injuries she suffered. Mark Rabideau is in Strong Hospital with serious injuries.

“She's one of the greatest little ladies you'll ever meet or would ever meet. She works in a hospital and takes care of people everyday of her life. And she took care of all of us,” a family friend known as “Dragon” said.

State police believe alcohol may have played a roll in the crash. No charges have been filed, although the district attorney’s office is involved in the ongoing investigation.

Lucille Rabideau was a senior patient care tech at Rochester General Hospital. The hospital released this statement Monday:

"Lucille was a kind, compassionate and talented caregiver and a highly-respected and admired member of the RGH family. We appreciate the care provided by first responders and our colleagues at Strong, and the wonderful support that the EMS community has demonstrated for our ED staff. Lucille will be sadly missed by her friends and colleagues at RGH, and our thoughts and prayers are with her husband and family at this very difficult time."
