Police said the man who crashed into an apartment building in Avon Wednesday was suffering a seizure at the time.

Avon police have now ruled the crash accidental.

Avon police said David Gunther, 49, of Avon, was driving west on East Main Street in the village of Avon when he missed the curve on the traffic circle and drove through the park, hit the curve and went airborne and into the Avon on the Green apartment building.

The car crashed into a first-floor apartment and hit James Buske, 81, who lives there.

Buske and Gunther were both taken to the hospital. Buske is listed in guarded condition at Strong Hospital. David Gunther, the driver, is in satisfactory condition.

The American Red Cross provided shelter to 12 residents of Avon on the Green.
