A new Ontario County wind project has approval for construction.

Zotos International out of Connecticut won approval for a $7 million wind power project for its manufacturing plant in Geneva.

The company said it is the largest wind project of any U.S. manufacturer.

The Zotos project features two wind turbines and is part of plans for a 670,000-square-foot plant powered only by renewable energy by the end of 2011.

Construction on the turbines should begin next month.
