A local reading program that plans to get even bigger celebrated its current success.

Students from three different Rochester schools gathered to share their favorite books and the desire to read.

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks presented a $50,000 grant to help the program grow, matched by another $25,000 from the local George Mercier Literary Program.

This partnership is between School No. 9, where the program started, Mercier and Nazareth College.

Students left with buckets full of school supplies to use this fall.
