Monroe County released surveillance video of the actual blasts of Thursday's hydrogen explosions at the Rochester Airport.

In the video, you can see the distance of the hydrogen storage takes, and some smoke appears, and then the blasts.

Monroe County Fire Bureau Chief, Sam Derosa says investigators think the problem may have originated in the main line fill valve that's used to transfer the hydrogen. Derosa also says the driver of the truck had completed the transfer when the gas ignited.

The driver of the truck was recently awarded for his 30 years of safe driving.

In addition, Monroe County officials and engineers with Praxair have been holding safety briefings for majority of Friday morning.

County Fire Coordinator Sam DeRosa says they've been working to come up with a safe way to move the hydrogen tanks that exploded. Praxair engineers are releasing the hydrogen fuel out of the tanks and into the air. County officials say it is a nonhazardous gas that wont cause any environmental issues.

However, the process of draining the tanks can be loud, officials warn. The process started around 11 a.m. Friday and takes up to five hours. The Monroe County fuel station will be back up and running once the process is complete.

Once the tanks are empty they will be taken back to Praxair's facility in Niagara Falls.

"No hazard to the environment. The product will rapidly dissipate into the air. It's obviously lighter than the air. It's about .7 as far as density is concerned, which means it will readily dissipate into the air." DeRosa said.

DeRosa says the cause of the fire is still undetermined. And the investigation into how this happens continues.
