A 45-year-old Livingston County man is under arrest after sheriff's deputies said they seized one of the largest marijuana growing operations in the county.

Michael Mettler faces several charges related to growing marijuana over 44 acres of land he owns. Authorities made the discovery Tuesday on Barber Hill Road in the town of Groveland.

Deputies said pot was also found in the basement of the home and in a large barn on the property. They said the street value of the drug operation is estimated at more than $250,000.

Authorities also found six guns and about two pounds of dried marijuana.

Mettler was arraigned in Groveland Town Court. He is in the Livingston County Jail without bail.

The sheriff's office said other charges may be pending.
