The Rochester Public Market is now America's favorite public market.

Midnight Tuesday was the deadline for the nationwide contest to determine which market was the favorite.

Rochester defeated the number two choice, Davis Farmers Market in California, by a nearly two-to-one margin. The organization "American Farmland Trust" ran the contest.

In addition to bragging rights for winning the "large-market" category, the Rochester Public Market will receive tote bags and marketing services from a Virginia firm.
