AG Candidate Brings Anti-Violence Message to Rochester
The city of Rochester suffered another homicide this week and some say it has been an unusually violent summer.
A downstate Democratic candidate for attorney general, Eric Schneiderman, stopped in the city Saturday to visit Lexington Avenue, one of the more recent homicide scenes.
He came with an anti-violence message. He was escorted by motorcycle group “Most Wanted,” a self-titled anti-violence gang.
Riders said they are holding out hope for change.
"Well it's got a lot to do with social issues and individuals not being able to communicate with each other. I think once we address the social issues here in the city, and state, and nationwide then we can put an end to all of the senseless stabbings and the shootings," said rider James Jones.
Schneiderman talked to community members about gun control. He said he favors gun owner's rights, but wants to crack down on rogue gun dealers.
