Robot Helps Bring Albion Standoff to an End
A New York State Police robot was apparently what it took to end a ten hour standoff Sunday morning in Orleans County.

Investigators say it started with a family argument Saturday afternoon around 4:15pm at a home on Rich's Corners Road in Albion.

A woman and two children ran away after being allegedly threatened by the husband Dustin McMullen, 33, who had two guns. One of the guns was an AK-47 assault rifle.

Local sheriff's deputies surrounded the home and attempts to talk McMullen out and the use of tear gas failed. Once state police brought in their robot at 2am, McMullen surrendered and was arrested.

McMullen was scheduled to undergo a mental evaluation.
