Some fundraisers are all about healthy living through 5Ks and walks, but an annual fundraiser in Rochester combines the healthy exercise of running with the not-so-healthy act of shoveling down a garbage plate.

The Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at the University of Rochester held its annual Nick Tahou's run. Teams of two or three ran the two miles from campus to Nick Tahou's on West Main Street.

Once there they hand off to another person who must eat a garbage plate before the first person turns around and runs back to complete the relay. More and more brave souls are deciding to go it alone meaning they run and gorge. The fraternity calls them “ironmen.”

"Due to our co-sponsorship with the other groups, we got a lot more people involved," said Bjorn Ahbel of Sigma Phi Epsilon. "We have, I think officially, 55 people signed up, which was a big increase from last year, which was great."

The run benefits the fraternity's national charity YouthAids.
