Third Fatal Tour Bus Crash in Area
This bus crash is not the first of its kind in our area. The Rochester region has experienced two other fatal tour bus crashes in recent years.
In January of 2005, a Coach Canada bus carrying a woman's hockey team to a ski center, crashed into a tractor trailer on Route 390 near Geneseo, Livingston County. The driver of the truck, the team's coach, his teenage son, and a mother of one of the players died in the crash. The bus driver did not face any criminal charges.
In June 2002, a bus rolled over on the thruway in Victor killing five people. The National Transportation Safety Board found the driver of the bus, William Hoven, fell asleep at the wheel after a night of gambling in Niagara Falls. He later died in prison.
