Child Playing with Matches Sparks Fire
Rochester firefighters said an 11-year-old playing with matches caused a house fire Monday morning.
The fire broke out in a second floor bedroom of a home on Norton Street just before 5:30 a.m.
Firefighters said the child admitted he was playing with matches and ran outside with a family pet after the fire started.
Two adults and several pets inside the home at the time of the fire were also not hurt.
The American Red Cross is providing temporary housing to the family
