Captain Peter Leach said it happened on Oriole Street shortly before 5 o'clock. Leach said that Jacob Carver, 37, of Rochester was going south when he hit a tree on the east curb. The rider was taken to Strong Hospital where he died of his injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No other vehicles or people were involved.
