Irondequoit Police arrested a man accused of raping at least three people since the end of last month.

Michael Chess, 24, was arraigned on three counts of rape in the first degree for three separate incidents. Police say one incident was reported September 30th. The other two happened on the same day of October 10th. According to Monroe County prosecutors, Chess arrested two days later but after he posted bail, police connected him with a third rape and charged him on Monday.

Police said that Chess targeted women through an online service and lured them to houses in the North Goodman Street, Norton Street, and Culver Road areas.

"He would contact them by telephone and bring them out to ares of Irondequoit bordered by Culver Road, Norton Street, and North Goodman Street where he would forcibly sexually assault the victims," said Martin Corbett, Irondequoit Police Captain.

Police believe there may have been more victims. They ask anyone with information to contact the investigator, Mark Bean, at 585-336-6001.

"We are obviously using the victims for information. We will do that with any victims that come forward. We will take that information and look at it very seriously no matter what the circumstance is," said Monica O'Brien, Monroe County Asst. District Attorney.

Chess is in jail on $25,000 cash bail. O'Brien says his case is being presented to a grand jury. His next court date is Friday, October 28th at 9:30am.
