An Irondequoit man was arraigned in Monroe County Court Thursday on three counts of first degree rape.

Michael Chess was arrested October 12th. He is accused of targeting the alleged victims through an online dating service and luring them to residential areas in the vicinity of North Goodman Street, Norton Street, and Culver Road in Irondequoit. Once there, the victims claim Chess allegedly sexually assaulted them.

Chess pleaded not guilty.

The Monroe County District Attorney's Office believes there may be more victims.

"I know a few people have come forward, those investigations are ongoing. At this point, no charges have been filed officially but we are speaking to other individuals," said Monroe County Assistant District Attorney Monica O’Brien.

"This is a case, if I can give a title to it; it's called love for sale. The police and the prosecutor call them escorts. This case should be in small claims for collection. We'll show that these prostitutes are now trying to eke out a few more bucks from my client and we'll prevail in this case," said Senior Defense Attorney Charles Schiano.

Chess, who is also charged with first degree robbery, remains free on $55,000 bond.

His next court date is scheduled for November 21st.
