Two Charged Following Fire on Beechwood Street
A Rochester house is being torn down after a fire Tuesday night.
Firefighters were called to Beechwood Street around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. When fire crews arrived, they found a two-and-a-half story home fully engulfed in flames. Some nearby residents were evacuated as a precaution.
The fire and threat to nearby homes were only part of the problem for firefighters as they say the cold is one of their biggest challenges this time of year.
No one was injured during the fire.
Rochester police now say they have made arrests stemming from a disturbance at the same home two hours earlier.
38-year-old Takiyah Siplin is charged with assault and her daughter's boyfriend, 31-year-old Lawrence Nobles, is charged with disorderly conduct.
Police say arson investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire. More charges are pending.
