Well the holidays are over for many of us. But one family in Spencerport put up their Christmas tree this week, broke out the gifts and celebrated the homecoming of their son who just returned from Afghanistan.
Matthew Krupczyk was deployed in southern Afghanistan for about 7 months providing security for the U-S Air Force. His mother said the family promised him that they would put off Christmas until he came home this week.
Matthew says his favorite thing about Christmas is the family's Yankee Swap party.
It's a game where we just swap gifts with each other and have a good time and laugh. My cousin Danny usually does the announcing. He announces everything...because there's always discrepancies on how many times you can steel a gift. It was good to have him come out and do that," said Sr. Airman Krupczyk.

""As a mom, it's very stressful to have her son in a situation where there's war. So, it's a blessing to have him home," said Mary Kukura, Matthew's mother.
Mary says she is very proud of her son's service and strong family commitment. Matthew has served in the Air Force for about 4 years; this was his first deployment to Afghanistan.
