ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- It was all things football this Super Bowl Sunday. Excitement built on which team would take the trophy.

"When you're born in New England, it's just in the water up there. I love the Patriots, I live and die for them," said Dean Nicosia.

Another fan said, "I love the Giants, New York City, baby!"

"May the best man win," Nicosia said.

While some watched from the comfort of their own homes, others crowded bars and restaurants, rooting for their favorite team from afar.

"We're all just one big family, so we all celebrate together," said Veronica Kitchenman.

Members of the Rochester Patriots Fan Club, officially registered through the New England team, joined together in Gates Sunday afternoon, sporting the red, white, and blue.

"We got heart, we're a team, and we just know how to gel together, play together. We've got everything going for us," said Jim Archetko.

"I was the first born baby into the club, and my mom brought me into it from the time I was an infant, and I've just kept on going," Kitchenman said.

"Been a season ticket holder, been a fan since I was nine," one Patriots fan said.

Across the city, also in their red, white and blue, Giants fans came together, having complete faith in their team.

Glenn Roberts said, "Just beating up on the Patriots, that's all. I enjoy it very much."

"I hate the Patriots! I'm not a Brady fan," Joe White said.

But some were split down the middle on who would come out on top, so long as it was a good game.

Ted Adams said, "I think it's the best two teams playing. Best team from the NFC and best team from the AFC."

There's one thing all Patriots and Giants fan could agree on.

"Food is always good!"

"The food definitely plays a big part of it, and the commercials as well, but just the atmosphere of being here and watching a great game," Adams said.

No matter the outcome, team spirit is something these football die hards are proud of.

"These are the people I love in Rochester, great place to be," one fan said.

Nicosia said, "Just enjoying the day. And it's a day off of work for me tomorrow, so that's always good!"

Kitchenman added, "This is one of our probably three big holidays."
