Former Buffalo Bill Opens Up About Heart Disease

Adam Lingner, who played for the Buffalo Bills during its Super Bowl runs in the 90s, was in the Rochester area Tuesday, sharing his personal battle with heart disease. The event was hosted by Ortho Clinical Diagnostics.
The former offensive lineman encouraged the participants, who are preparing for the American Heart Association's 2012 Heart Walk fundraiser, to get involved and spread the word about the importance of heart healthy living and physical activity.
Lingner credits Ortho Clinical Diagnostics research for saving his life.
"Well, recently, back on May 2nd, I found out I had heart disease, so I reach out to friends of mine that work with the Heart Association and said, how can I help out? Luckily I had a good outcome, but I could've avoided the whole thing by taking better care of myself, so I really wanted to spread the word about all the good work that the Heart Association does,” said Lingner.
Lingner hopes his story will help get the word out about the resources that are available, and encourage more people to support the organization.
