Leaders of the Rochester Community Coalition are calling on state legislators to support their economic agenda and work to deliver their list of priorities for state funding.

That list includes correcting a disparity in state aid to municipalities, mandate relief to local governments, and four transformational projects identified in the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council's strategic plan.

"We did hear from them. First of all, that they thought this agenda was one of the strongest ever that we've ever had. They felt that the climate was right for change and it was a very positive climate and they pledged that they would work with us to help us achieve our goals," said Sandy Parker, president of the Rochester Business Alliance.

The coalition says it is aware of the budgetary issues the state faces, but there still needs to be strategic investments in economic development.
