Car Fire in Greece Leads to DWI Charges
A Greece man is facing DWI charges after his car caught fire with him passed out inside in his own driveway.
The incident occurred on Doc Genano Way off of Dewey Avenue shortly after 1:30 a.m. Area neighbors saw the car fire and alerted the 57-year old man to wake up and get out.
"He had come from a bar, passed out in his vehicle, and his vehicle started on fire while he was passed out in the vehicle," said Lt. Richard Downs of the Greece Police Department.
The Monroe County Sheriffs Office is investigating the cause of the fire, but it is believed to have started in the engine compartment.
