A walk was held at RIT Sunday to help raise awareness for deaf and hard-of-hearing victims of domestic violence.
The Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority hosted the one mile walk which raised money for the Advocacy Services for Abused Deaf Victims. Participants were encouraged to wear high heels to support victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Despite the rain a few hundred people showed up.
"I love supporting all philanthropies. I went to an amazing challenge yesterday. I figured I'd come here and support. I love helping. That's what it is," says RIT student Jaime.
The RIT student government provided a barbecue and the first 300 participants received a free T-shirt.
