A family dog was killed in a house fire on Rochester's north side Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters were called out to the area of West Boulevard Parkway shortly before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday for the report of smoke.
Fire officials on scene called a second alarm due to the home's location at the dead end of a street, which can cause problems getting equipment down to the scene.
Investigators say the fire was primarily on the first floor and caused extensive damage.
No one else was injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
