Local Teen Drowns at Adirondack Camp
A Rochester teenager is dead after drowning in Upper Saranac Lake Friday.

State police say 19-year-old Keenen Green was swimming with friends at the Young Life Adirondack Camp on Route 30 in Franklin County.

Green called for help and was unable to keep himself afloat.

Police say several volunteer staff members unsuccessfully attempted to rescue Green.
They say Green was about 15 feet from the shore when he had trouble swimming in 10 feet of water.

Staff members performed CPR until the Tupper Lake Volunteer Rescue Squad arrived on scene.

Green was pronounced dead at the Adirondack Medical Center.

Green was in the area helping the camp prepare for the season.
