Former patient of Dr. Timothy Jorden recalls a quiet, competent doctor

BUFFALO, N.Y. — "When I saw Dr. Timothy Jorden’s name on it, I was floored. My jaw dropped," said Ava Golden, a former patient of Dr. Timothy Jorden.
That's how Ava describes her reaction when she learned the doctor who performed her surgery in February was now being sought by police in connection with the killing of a receptionist at ECMC.
"I was really shocked because I thought he was a very nice doctor, he was very pleasant, pretty quiet and reserved, very pleasant, and I had a good experience with my surgery," said Golden.
Jorden was a trained trauma surgeon and an Army veteran specially trained in the use of weapons. Police want know if the same well-respected doctor who performed Golden's surgery is the same person who fired four shots into 33-year old Jacqueline Wisniewski Wednesday morning at ECMC.
"It's a devastating loss. It's family; it's own of our own," said Thom Quatroche.
Quatroche, the senior VP of marketing and planning for the hospital, won't comment specifically about Wisniewski due to the murder investigation, but he did talk about the impact the shooting has had on workers at the hospital. He says counseling is being offering through the hospitals employee assistance program.
''They're going through EAP, they're going through crisis services, and again, we're giving an opportunity to every employee to be able to discuss their feelings," said Quatroche.
Meantime, Golden is hoping authorities find Dr. Jorden soon so they can piece together exactly what happened. She's also hoping his arrest will help give Wisniewski's family the answers to their questions.
"I certainly hope that nothing happens to him, but I certainly wish the best for the victim's family and I hope that they eventually have peace and closure about the whole situation," said Golden.
