More than 200 people came out Thursday night to take part in Teen Empowerment's second annual Peace March throughout the streets of Rochester.

The march was to honor Lawrence Richardson, a Rochester teen who was shot to death earlier in the year.

Organizers say they want this to be a call to action to stop the violence in the community.

"We're trying to stand together and say 'we want change in the community.' We don't want the violence, we don't want the murder, we don't want any of the problems we're having in the community. We're trying to come together and have our voice heard. The more people, the more support we can get the effective this kind of stuff can be as far as making changes in the community," said Dean Lawrence, youth organizer.

After the march, Teen Empowerment hosted an ice cream social featuring poetry and an interactive drum circle.
