Tow Truck Drivers Assist Crash Victims on Thruway
Three people suffered only minor injuries after a crash on the Thruway Thursday, thanks to some tow truck drivers passing by.
New York State Police officers say Craig Stonesifer, 68, was towing a trailer on the Thruway when he attempted to change lanes and hit a Kia just after 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Stonesifer over-corrected and crashed on the side of the road.
Troopers say tow truck drivers that stopped when they saw the crash were on the scene and helping the victims when they arrived.
Stonesifer and a passenger in his car were taken to Strong Hospital with what are described as minor injuries. A passenger in the Kia was also taken to Strong with minor injuries.
Police say Stonesifer was ticketed for unsafe lane change.
