ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Anna, an 18-year-old female cougar residing at the Seneca Park Zoo, passed away Friday.
She came to live at the zoo in 2005 with her brother Monty who died in 2009 of an age-related heart incident.
According to Dr. Jeff Wyatt, the Director of Animal Health & Conservation, Anna passed the same way her brother did, of an aging heart.
Cougars life spans generally range from 8 to 12 years making Anna's extended life period quite rare.
