Monroe County Sheriff's deputies have made an arrest in the shooting of a man in Wheatland earlier this week.

Deputies arrested 20-year old Vincenzo Zagari of Parma. He's charged with first degree Assault in connection with the shooting of 42-year old Angel Figueroa.

The victim was found Monday along Smith Road in Wheatland with a gunshot wound.

Deputies have yet to release a motive for the shooting or where it actually took place.

Figueroa is still in guarded condition at Strong Hospital.

Zagari was arraigned in Wheatland Town Court on Saturday morning and remanded to the county jail on $100,000 cash bail.
